The way I have mine set is to give actual distance and also shooting (horizontal) distance. So basically it has the slope and angle calculations and uses this to calculate what I really want, which is shooting distance. I think you can also set it to show the degrees of angle if that's what you'd rather see.
Hi there, The minimum distance is just need farther than 5 yards. Not the 30 yards.
If you can put the dot on it out at 1,000 yards it will read it. It will even tell you your arch for bow hunting.
It depends on what type of glass it is. If it has a low e coating it seems not to work.
